Malta Independent Thursday, 22 September 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Launched in 1955, Lachryma Vitis – tears of the vine – is Malta’s most popular wine brand and acquired its name from the suffering of the vine under the hot Mediterranean sun. The wine is available in white, red, rose’, semi sweet and marsala and is packaged in 50cl, 75cl, one litre and five litre.

Anyone wishing to participate in the Lachryma Vitis 50th anniversary competition need only collect three screw caps from any Lachryma Vitis bottles or three bar codes from the Lachryma Vitis packs and forward them in a self addressed envelope including their name and telephone number to: Lachryma Vitis, The Winery, Swansea Street, Marsa.

They will then enter the competition with the possibility of winning a Kia Picanto which will be drawn on 17 January 2006. Entries must reach the winery by not later than 31December 2005.

The lucky person drawn will be asked a skill-testing question before being confirmed a winner. Entrants must be over 16 years of age. Competition is not open to employees or relatives of employees of Emmanuel Delicata. For more information call 2182 5199.
