Malta’s Under 17 squad taking part in a UEFA mini-tournament in Lithuania this week will be leaving today.
The Maltese contingent is headed by the vice chairman of the Amateur and Youths Football Committee Salvu Vella.
The players making the trip are:
Goalkeepers: Matthew Camilleri (Pieta), Nicholas Vella (San Gwann).
Defenders: Steve Bonnici (Melita), Owen Bugeja (Floriana), Tyron Farrugia (Msida SJ), Giuseppe Muscat (Sliema W.), Julian Tonna (Mellieha), Jonathan Xerri (Hibernians).
Midfielders: Julian Galea (Melita), Sheldon Grech (Pieta), Karl Pulo (Pieta), Mark Scerri (Sliema W.), Clayton Zammit (Hibernians).
Strikers: Nathan Busuttil (Pieta), Glanville Goodlip (Pieta), Osbert Ellul (Hibernians), Leighton Grech (Hibernians), Dylon Kokavessis (Pieta).
The squad is under the charge of coach Joe Grech and his assistant Winston Muscat.
The team plays its first match against N. Ireland on Tuesday at noon. The second match will be played on Thursday against Serbia Montenegro at 4pm and the final match will be against the hosts, Lithuania, on Saturday 1 October, at 1.30pm.
