Malta will be represented by Tony Drago and Alex Borg in this year’s professional season which starts with the qualifying rounds of the Grand Prix today and tomorrow.

They are both playing in Round 1 of the tournament at Preston, England. Drago will be meeting wild card Steve James in Match 10, while Alex Borg will be meeting Gerard Greene in Match 20.

Drago is this year starting the season ranked 38. Alex Borg has joined the professional field once again thanks to his victory in the European Championship in Poland last June.

If Drago wins his match, he will then face Barry Hawkins in the Round of 64. If Borg passes this round, he is scheduled to face Stephen Lee in the next round.

The final rounds of the tournament are to be played between 8 and 16 October.
