Malta Independent Thursday, 29 September 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery have just returned from Tunisia where their Under 19 group took part in a tournament organised by the Sousse FA.

The contingent of 25 included players, coaches, officials and some parents.

The team played five matches winning three and losing the other two against Tunisian teams forming part of the Sousse FA.

Goalkeeper Dean Dimech was awarded the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

The ESS team of Tunisia proved to be the strongest of the participants - they can select from around 100 children from among the 1995 group alone.

This team and another Tunisian side have now been invited to take part in the annual tournament organised by the Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery next March.
