Marsaxlokk FC yesterday announced the appointment of Ray’Zazu’ Farrugia as their technical director. He will take the post with immediate effect till the end of the season.

Farrugia is an experienced coach, having guided the Maltese Under 21 national team as well as Premier club Pieta Hotspurs.

He also runs a football school for youngsters.

Present coach Atanas Marinov will still be holding his post, at least until the end of the season.

The news was confirmed following reports by a Marsaxlokk official, earlier this week, about the club’s intentions to upgarde their technical set-up.

Marsaxlokk have high ambitions of making it with the top Premier clubs this season after some very interesting signings at the start of the campaign.

Although occupying fourth place in the league standings, they are well adrift of the top two teams, Sliema Wanderers and Hibernians, having won only two out of six matches
