Maltese shooter William Chetcuti was yetserday given a four-year suspended sentence by the Malta Olympic Committee after found guilty of breaching a sponsorship agreement he already had with the MOC.

A few weeks ago, Chetcuti had signed a sponsorship agreement with Go Mobile which the MOC deemed it irregular due to Chetcuti’s present agrrement with them.

Chetcuti is one of the first athletes who has recently been benefitting from the ‘Elite Athletes’ programme launched by the MOC.

If Chetcuti does not abide by MOC regulations during the four-year period, he may be suspended from representing Malta in his sport.
