The Maltese Islands Scrabble Club has launched its Autumn Tournament for this year, at its premises within the St Aloysius Sports & Leisure Complex, in Birkirkara.

The group of participants playing on Mondays and Thursdays, include Peter Elbourne, Mario Saliba and Sammy Mangion – all prestigious holders of the coveted title of ex-Malta Scrabble Champions.

Elbourne is unsurpassed so far in his achievement to be crowned on no less than seven times with this title in the past, representing Malta on a number of occasions during the World Scrabble Championships abroad.

The second group of participants playing on Thursdays only, include a number of absolute beginners alongside others with years of experience. These newcomers to the Scrabble scene are keen on having fun and gaining valuable experience.
