Snooker players can now apply to participate in the second edition of the Acqua Azzura Pro-Am tournament in their local snooker hall.
It has already been noticed that a good number of snooker players have already shown interest to take part in this very prestigious tournament. Some foreigners have also shown interest in taking part.
Several categories are to be contested and a seven-point advantage will be given from one category to another.
Applications will close on Saturday 5 November. Any club or individuals who want more information can phone the organiser on 99441107.
Acqua Azzura Pro-Am Snooker is handing out total prize money of Lm550.
The winner of the tournament will get Lm200 while the losing finalist will get Lm100. Third placed player will get Lm50 while Lm25 will be given to the fourth placed player and, for the first time, those losing in the quarter finals will get Lm40 between them.
A prize of Lm20 will be given to the player compiling the highest break while a special bonus of Lm100 will be given to the player making the highest break ever in Pro-Am snooker.
This tournament has been approved by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association and will be played at the Balluta Band Club in Sliema, which boasts one of the best snooker halls in Malta.
The Acqua Azzura Pro-Am Snooker tournament will start on 21 November.
