On Saturday Mara C.C took on Krishna C.C in a friendly game in the lead up to the touring teams.

Krishna C.C won the toss and elected to bat. Nowell Khosla and John Grima opened the innings.

Khosla was the first to go being run out for eleven runs after a mix up between the batsmen. Grima went on to make fifty one runs including five fours. Kevin Krishna batted solidly for fifty runs including four fours. Rory O’Brien made twenty five runs of seventeen balls before being adjudged L.B.W. Mark Sacco made twenty four runs of seventeen balls before being clean bowled by Mike. R. Sam Dhandapani also made twenty two runs of fourteen balls before he too was bowled.

Aided with forty one extras Krishna C.C totaled 237 runs of their allotted overs. Ronnie Sacco was the pick of the Marsa bowlers taking two wickets for thirty runs of seven overs.

For Marsa the run chase started of badly with Javed Shah being caught in the second over for five runs.

Ronnie Sacco batted with patience until he made twenty before getting the outside edge from an out swinger from Jaya Krishna which went through to the keeper.

Robert Krishna playing for Marsa made an impressive fifty five runs including four fours.

Tim Wheeler also batted well hitting five fours in his fifty two runs. After this Marsa’s batting fell apart and could only manage 179 runs.

For Krishna Jaya Krishna was the most successful bowler taking two wickets. John Grima who normally keeps wicket also bowled and took a wicket. Krishna C.C wins the game by 58 runs.

On Thursday, Marsa take on The Malta Knights Rugby team from Australia in a friendly at 11am.

Over the weekend Marsa take on The Forty C.C from England. Both games to start at 10am.
