Palazzo Capua has just hosted a successful weekend in which it opened its doors to the public for the first time following its refurbishment. This splendid monument to a bygone age is known mostly for the royal residents who gave it their name, the Prince of Capua, Carlo di Borbone, and his Irish wife Penelope. Exiled by the prince’s brother Ferdinand II, King of the Two Sicilies, the couple settled at the palace in 1837.
Many were those who visited the Palazzo Capua on the two open days. These were shown around the building by staff members who gave an overview of the building’s history and its present function as an exclusive conference and reception destination.
During the open weekend Palazzo Capua was also launched as the ideal wedding venue and visitors had the opportunity of inspecting the meticulously restored building’s facilities, the different wedding set-ups available and the luxuriously refurbished executive suites, situated on the first floor of Palazzo Capua itself. These lovely duplex suites are now being offered as honeymoon suites.
For this occasion Palazzo Capua made an introductory offer for the free use of this wedding venue to couples who place their booking by the end of 2005. The offer is still open, and those couples who did not make it to visit Palazzo Capua may still do so by appointment. During the open weekend all the couples visiting the palace were also given exclusive discount vouchers for services from John’s Garage, The Floral Designer and Norbert Musical Services.
This year Palazzo Capua will be participating for the first time at the forthcoming Wedding Fair.
