Wilkinson Sword, represented in Malta by Miller Distributors Limited, has announced its new sponsorship to Melita Table Tennis Club. Melita is one of the leading table tennis teams in the 1st Division of the Malta Table Tennis League. The 2005-2006 league is taking place at the University Sports Gymnasium every Monday and Friday evening at 7.30pm

Simon Debono, Marketing Manager at Miller Distributors, said: “Wilkinson Sword has a long tradition of sports sponsorships. Our support will help the Melita team to succeed in this season’s league.” This is the second sports sponsorship announced by Wilkinson Sword in less than two months. The brand is also the main sponsor of the Aquatic Sports Association (ASA).

“Our team has succeeded in securing its opening match against Valletta TT Club by an 8 – 1 victory in the Malta Table Tennis Association National League,” said David Pace, Melita Captain.

“Together with our new sponsor, Wilkinson Sword, Melita looks forward to compete and be in the front of the line.”

This year Melita has engaged the Tunisian player, Lassaad Boutara, to strengthen the team alongside Peter Borg Cardona ranked no.7 and David Pace ranked no.6, while the reserve player remains Nicholas Pace as in previous years.
