Table-Tennis: Polish National coach’s fruitful visit to Malta

Last week the Malta Table Tennis Association, through an agreement made with the European Table Tennis Union, had the privilege to host in Malta Laszek Kucharski from Poland who is definitely one of the best Table Tennis coaches presently in circulation in Europe.

Kucharski is currently head coach of the Polish female national team and in 2003 was coach of the Polish youths who succeeded in winning a gold medal in the European Youths Team Championships.

Kucharski holds many prestigious international victories be it as a singles player where he succeeded in reaching the world number 11 ranking and also as a doubles competitor where he held the Polish title for a number of years.

In Malta Kucharski was engaged with the local elite junior players, and he successfully conducted sessions for a whole week apart from passing on knowledge to the local youngsters in order for them to step up another level in their game.

He also conducted a seminar for Maltese coaches and enlightened them on the latest techniques of the game. The MTTA delegates took him on a visit to some schools where practical and fun sessions were implemented to the delight of enthusiastic students. Kucharski visited the latest private Table Tennis Centre in Tarxien and shared his thoughts with the coaches at the Centre, encouraging them to keep up the good work.

At the end of his stay the MTTA was presented with a report by the top international coach so as to work on areas which he felt needed to be addressed most in respect of young aspirants. Without doubt the Malta Table Tennis Association will act up on the professional advise that has been put forward.
