Strongbow, a crisp, premium cider imported and distributed by Anthony Caruana & Sons Limited, has signed a sponsorship agreement with Hibs Sharks Rugby Football Club. This was announced during a press conference held at Corradino Sports Pavilion, Kordin.
“Hibs Sharks RFC was set up a year ago. We are pleased to announce the club’s amalgamation with AS Hibernians and our official sponsorship with Strongbow,” said Nicholas Vella, President of Hibs Sharks RFC.
The rugby club has been discussing negotiations for affiliation with the established AS Hibernians for the past year. The hard work between the Hibs management and the Sharks’ committee is now bearing fruit.
“As a result of this amalgamation the team changed its name to Hibs Sharks. The club now can benefit from the various facilities that the Hibs Association offers. We are proud to be part of such an established association and to partner a successful brand like Strongbow. We have drawn up a detailed programme for a team and game development which should lead the club towards its future success,” said Mr Vella.
The amalgamation involved the changing of the squad’s kit. For the second year, PROMATE Sports supplied Hibs Sharks with an innovative design set of kits for season 2005/06.
Hibs Sharks RFC is also supported by PROMATE Sports, its home bar, Hibs Pavilion Bar, Scandals Pub at Bugibba and Saddles pub at Spinola Bay, and webdoze.com.
