Malta’s Alex Borg was eliminated from the China Open when he was defeated 5-1 by David Roe in a first round qualifying match yesterday.
Roe took a 3-1 interval lead before he went on to win the opening two frames of the second session to secure his victory.
Roe will now meet Robin Hull in the second qualifying round.
Tony Drago is due to play in the third round where he is scheduled to meet the winner of the match between Marcus Campbell and either Andrew Norman or Steve James who were playing yesterday evening.
