The 58th edition of the FISEC General Assembly came to an end on Sunday evening at the Corinthia Marina Hotel in St Julian’s.

This assembly was successfully organised by the Malta FISEC Council under the chairmanship of Brother Martin Borg fsc. The delegates also took the opportunity to visit Gozo and different sport complexes.

Various topics were discussed during this year’s assembly. It was decided that the FISEC International Council should work hard to give new countries the opportunity to take part in future editions of the games.

In fact, in the coming days, the international committee will start negotiations with a number of countries like Poland, Romania and Russia in order that these will start to take part from next year’s edition of the games.

The programme of the 2006 games in Kesckemet in Hungary was also finalised while Malta applied and was chosen to organise the 2008 edition of the games.

During the assembly, the participants were also addressed by the Minister of Education, Dr Louis Galea, who spoke about the importance of sport and physical education in today’s school curriculum.
