A young woman was seriously injured when the young man driving the car she was in lost control and crashed into a tree in Marsa on Saturday afternoon.

At around 3.30pm on Saturday, the police were informed of a traffic accident along 13 December Road in Marsa. On the scene, they found that a 22-year-old man lost control of the Mitsubishi car he was driving and crashed into a tree as he was driving towards Valletta.

The man and his passenger, a 17-year-old girl, both from Zebbug, were taken to St Luke’s Hospital for medical attention. He was slightly injured, while she was declared to be suffering from serious injuries.

The police are investigating.
