A limited edition Mont Blanc pen commemorating Pope Julius II will be auctioned for L-Istrina today. The bidding prize starts at Lm2,000.
The pen, exclusively available at Diamonds International – retailers of diamonds and designer jewellery and accessories – was used by Queen Elizabeth II and heads of state to sign the visitor’s book at the Radisson Golden Sands Spa and Resort during the CHOGM last month.
The edition Patron of Arts Pope Julius II, limited to 4,810 fountain pens worldwide, has a sumptuous gold-chased design on top of a cream-coloured lacquer base. It is crowned by the distinctive cap, symbolising the tiara of the Pope, and is embellished with an 18-carat gold nib, engraved with the seal of Julius II. It is also available in a very special version, limited to 888 fountain pens, made of solid 18-carat gold.
Diamonds International have also been entrusted with the auctioning of a 100g, pure gold ingot commissioned by Lombard Bank on the occasion of the CHOGM. The proceeds will go to the Community Chest Fund.
The auction will take place at L-Istrina venue in the PBS car park on Saturday between 10 am and 6 pm.
