Extraordinarily, Malta features as one of the international nations on Sidhe Interactive’s newest console game, Rugby League 2, released last Thursday.
The tiny island nation in the heart of the Mediterranean will be represented thanks to Malta’s representation in the growing sport of rugby league over the past 12 months.
“We’re introducing the sport of Rugby League to Malta as an extra form of recreation for the islands,” MRLA spokesperson Anthony Micallef says.
“With Rugby League 2 featuring Malta, gamers on the island can actually buy the game with Malta pre-programmed into it, rather than having to change settings and design new strips.
“Sidhe Interactive have incorporated Malta’s starting 17 players as well as a reserve number of Maltese players also to make up Malta’s squad as realistic as possible.
“For gamers in Malta, it will also make for an exciting introduction to the game of Rugby League itself and more importantly, at the gamers pace.”
This is most possibly Malta’s first true representation in a game console of any sort and Sidhe Interactive are the corporation behind the move to include Malta in its creation of Rugby League 2.
Rugby League 2 has already received astonishing reviews and is set to break its own records that the game’s prelude attained in the original version in 2003.
Rugby League 2 is available now.
