Malta's Alex Borg is just two rounds away from achieving his greatest dream – a debut at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

After his excellent victories in the first two qualifying rounds, he now faces Mark Selby today in the third round. If he wins, he will then face Robert Milkins in the last 64 in a match that will determine Borg's fate in the event.

Borg showed tremendous character and composure on Tuesday night when he made a great comeback to turn an 8-4 deficit against Jimmy Michie into a 10-8 second qualifying round victory, winning the final six frames in succession.

In the first round qualifying match, he had beaten Simon Bedford convincingly 10-6.
