The volleyball matches during last weekend gave a better profile to both the Men’s and the Ladies’ Senior leagues standings

In the senior Ladies’ league, Paola Hibs Candy obtained a straightforward win against Kerygma, to catch up with X-Sel at the top of the standings. However, their Italian player, Roberta Scaccia, was injured during the match, and might miss the very important match against the same X-Sel.

On the other hand Aloysians Playvolley also obtained a win against Kerygma, and they are now just one point behind the two leaders.

In the senior Men’s league, Aloysians Lipton were involved in two tense and difficult matches. In the first one, against Kerygma Blues, they played well in the first three sets, but then faltered when they had to open up the attack in the fourth one. Against San Anton, they were taken all the way by the young but very much improved San Anton side, until they finally won 17-15 in a very tense fifth set.

In another match from the senior Men’s league, Fleur de Lys FEB continued gathering points with a win in the derby against Fleur de Lys B. Now, they have a five point lead over Kerygma Blues, with the latter having a game in hand.

This weekend, besides the top of the table big match clash between Paola Hibs Candy and X-Sel in the Ladies’ Senior league, which should be considered as the match of the weekend, another tense match should be that from Men’s senior league between Fleur de Lys FEB and San Anton. The latter have improved a lot during this season, and can have a say on the final standings of the regular season.
