A photograph of Mdina has been voted Best Pictorial, beating thousands of other entries at a photography convention in Coventry, England.
The photograph was submitted by Charles Zammit, of Fotogenic, who also had another picture, in the landscape category, make it to the finals.
The results were announced on Sunday at the gala dinner of the Social Wedding Professional Photographers convention. There were 17 categories in the contest.
Mr Zammit’s landscape submission showed a leaf-strewn passageway among trees in Buskett.
The Mdina picture won Mr Zammit the title of International Pictorial Photographer of the Year 2005.
The best three international photo-graphers from all the participants were also announced at the dinner. Mr Zammit also won the International Photographer of the Year 2005 award. His prize is an expenses-paid trip for a master course by Jane Conner Ziser of Slovenia.
