The champions ended their group commitments on an unbeaten run, disposing of Kerygma with a handsome score.

They encountered a little opposition at the start but then took the game firmly in hand, and a 14-2 run till the end of the first session stamped their authority on the match.

In the second session Kerygma managed a couple of treys but Depiro were striding on to an even bigger lead, with Dorianne Gales and Joselle Cardona the protagonists. At the interval it was a 41-15 game.

After the break Depiro still kept on insisting, with an opening 11-1 run. Midway through the session Kerygma had a sort of reply, but Depiro took command till the end of the quarter, with another 12-0 run, for a 66-20 score.

In the final session, with Depiro bench players on court, Kerygma could improve on their score, winning the session, for partial satisfaction, and finishing in sixth place

Luxol had a good win, ending up the group stage in third place. Against the hapless Suns, the Violets ran riot in the last two quarters, to register a high score.

Luxol opened on a strong 14-2 run, and then eased off a little till the end of the session.

After a quiet start to the second session Luxol took control again, with an impressive 18-0 run, before Stephanie Meli could snap off their run, for a 40-14 halftime score.

After the break Luxol were even more tight in defence, blocking every Suns attempt at basket, and compiling a 16-0 score till the start of the fourth and last quarter, with a 56-14 score.

In the final session Suns only improved in the sense that they made a single point, by Ruth Farrugia, as Luxol ended the match on another 16-0 run, including a brace of treys by Mandy Sciortino at the end.

The Paola Side ended the group stage in second place, behind Depiro. They had an indifferent start to the game, already being assured of their placing in the standing.

Coach Mario Tabone, also introduced some bench players early on in the match, and Naxxar had partial control, ending the first session in front.

In the second quarter Naxxar still held off their opponents, and in the latter stages both sides sank their treys. Hibs were still 21-24 in arrears at the interval.

After the break Naxxar began to feel Hibs’ pressure, and the Paolites turned the score around, with an 8-0 run. A reaction from Naxxar only served to stop Hibs from increasing their lead, and after three sessions it was a 36-32 score.

The final session saw Hibs exercise their control in the game, as they overran their opponents with an opening 15-2 run. They could control the rest of the match, as Naxxar were subdued by the play against them. Beverlee Zammit crowned her display with a trey late in the game.
