The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts held its first meeting for 2006 at the Gozo Ministry.

Cultural cooperation, initiatives in the sister island and potential areas of reciprocal collaboration were discussed.

The meeting was addressed by Hans Cauchi, chairman of the Council and Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono

Minister Debono emphasized on the particular cultural identity which distinguishes Gozo, but which contemporarily enhances our national culture.

It is in this regard that the law establishing the MCCA, allocates one particular seat on the Council to a representative of Gozo.
