Assassini Internazzjonali – Enciklopedija ta’ Persunaggi Assassinati u Bijografija taghhom by Edward Attard is a new publication from Publishers Enterprises Group (PEG) Ltd of San Gwann.

In 400 pages, the author features many of the world’s most notorious and infamous assassinations, and provides biographical notes about the victims and what led to them being eliminated.

Among the many planned homicides featured in Assassini Internazzjonali are those of Rasputin, Markov, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Giovanni Falcone and other well-known, and less popular, figures. The author unveils a chronological exposé of killings and attempted assassinations spanning all five continents – going back as far as the times of the Roman Empire and leading up to the year 2004.

The basic difference between murder and assassination is the fact that the latter is usually politically motivated, and therefore usually concerns political and spiritual leaders or other high profile personalities. In this sense, assassination becomes a force that, whether one likes it or not, has shaped society throughout its history.

The author is already well-known for his interest in the history of the Malta Police force and the prison system in Malta. Having served in the Police Force himself, Mr Attard developed a fascination with murder investigation, as a result of which he wrote various books about murders carried out both in Malta and abroad. His contributions have also featured on local radio and television stations.

Written in Maltese, Assassini Internazzjonali – Enciklopedija ta’ Persunaggi Assassinati u Bijografija taghhom can be purchased from all leading bookshops. For more information, call PEG on 2144-0083 or 2144-8539 or visit the PEG Publications website: www.peg.com.mt.
