Following the successful seminar on the implementation of the European Arrest Warrant (EAW), held on 1 and 2 December 2005, the Justice and Home Affairs Ministry in collaboration with the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Office (TAIEX) of the European Commission, DG Enlargement, has organised a second seminar aimed at addressing the members of the judiciary.
The seminar, held on 26 and 27 January at the Crowne Plaza in Sliema, offered a practical approach with presentations from experts of the old member states on how the EAW works in practice and the experience of its implementation.
The seminar was addressed by Dr Guy Stessens from the Judicial Cooperation Division of the Council of the European Union, Ingrid Maschl-Clausen, Judge, Detached National Expert in the Council General Secretariat, Fancisco Jimenez-Villarejo Fernandez, from the Prosecution Office in Malaga, Stefan Trunk, from the Public Prosecutor’s Office Dusseldorf and Paul Close from the Crown Prosecution Service.
