NnG Productions will be taking over the organisation of the Jazz Festival, after an agreement was signed yesterday between the company and the Malta Council for Culture and Arts.
Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech said the Jazz Festival had been held for the past 16 years and was now an established event in the cultural and tourism calendar.
He thanked Charles “City” Gatt who has been the driving force behind the festival which was now an international event. Dr Zammit Dimech said the new organisers who were already well-known for bringing international acts to Malta, were the ideal company to organise such an important festival.
The minister said the government was looking for further joint initiatives with the private sector, such as the recent partnership with Eden Leisure Group to organise the Mediterranean Food Festival.
NnG director Nigel Camilleri said his company was honoured to take over the organisation of such an important cultural icon.
NnG will do its utmost to make the festival a success, he said. The composition of the event will be changed to make it more appealing to the public.
