Over 25 Departments operating from new BOV Centre

Malta Independent Wednesday, 1 February 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Over 25 customer services and support units have been centralised at Bank of Valletta’s new state-of-the-art centre in Santa Venera. These units bring together over 400 employees offering services to customers and to the bank’s branches and units. Among the customer service activities now operating from the new BOV Centre are the Wealth Management and Stock-

broking arms of BOV, the Corporate Centre, the Card Services Department as well as the Bank’s Customer Service Centre.

The first department to start operating from the new centre was the Premises Department, which moved into the new premises on 23 May 2005. The bulk of the migration took place between July and November of last year. The last remaining 30 employees are now expected to move to Santa Venera this coming March.

The new BOV Centre, due to be inaugurated next week, also houses the bank’s Information Technology Services Division.

Next week’s inauguration of the new premises will complete what is considered as Bank of Valletta’s biggest ever centralisation process – a project initiated five years ago with the acquisition of the site for the new BOV Centre in 2000.

“The actual process of moving into the new BOV Centre was, in itself, a major project which posed logistical challenges both from an administrative and a technical perspective. Today, we are delighted that this largest ever development project undertaken by Bank of Valletta has reached completion and we are looking forward with pride and satisfaction to the official inauguration next week,” commented the executive head responsible for administration at BOV, John Cassar Torregiani.

“Indeed, the new BOV Centre is a building that is modern, energy efficient and that was purposely built to enable Bank of Valletta to gain operational efficiencies through the added synergies that it can provide. The entire complex, spread over a footprint of around 5000 square metres, offers full accessibility and is equipped with modern health and safety features that offer a secure and friendly environment to all our personnel.”
