The quality of life in the village of Bulbula in Ethiopia will take a leap forward with the construction of a new medical centre. Today, Vodafone will be making its contribution to ensure that this medical centre, for which the Kilimanjaro Challenge Project has been striving to raise Lm38,000, actually materialises. This will be done through its sponsorship of “Served by the Stars” which will be taking place at Valletta Waterfront’s Heat Diner.
“Served by the Stars”, organised by Keith and Co Creations in association with the Malta University Sports Club (MUSC), will see personalities like Ira Losco, Gianni, Lou Bondi, Moira Delia, Dr Lawrence Gonzi and Dr Alfred Sant serving customers who on the night visit Heat for a drink or a meal.
“Everyone must surely have been impressed to see the achievement of the 20 Maltese climbers who recently reached the summit of Kilimanjaro. Now, we all have a chance to help these volunteers raise the last bit of the Lm38,000 needed for this project to be realised. Vodafone has already committed its support to “Served by the Stars” and encourages the public to also show their solidarity by turning up and enjoying what should be great night out,” said brand executive at Vodafone Malta Ltd, Ms Denise Ross.
“Through ‘Served by the Stars’, we are seeking to provide a new alternative for those looking for a different experience while at the same time helping the Kilimanjaro team to collect funds for the set up of a clinic in Ethiopia,” said the organiser of the event, Mr Keith Marshall.
On the night, donations will be collected at the door. Further details about the night and proceeds can be obtained by calling Keith on 9947-1813 or Eman on 9926-3626.
