50-hour Bicycle marathon

The Lyceum Dun Guzepp Zammit (Brighella) of Hamrun is inviting the public to participate in a 50 hour cycle marathon in the school grounds between 24 and 26 March. Money raised during the marathon will go to Dar tal-Providenza and the Muscular Dystrophy Group.

The event will start on Friday, 24 March at 12.30pm at the school’s annexe in Sliema, from where participants will cycle to the Lyceum in Hamrun.

The theme of the marathon is From children to children and its aims are:

to foster in the students a sense of solidarity towards youngsters in need;

to raise funds for Dar tal-Providenza to start a project of refurbishment at Villa Papa Luciani to offset the remaining bank loan on the van which is being presented today, 2 February, to the Muscular Dystrophy Group by the chairperson of the Malta Community Chest Fund, Mary Fenech Adami and Tony Caruana Smith, Lyceum head and chairman of the cycle marathon.
