Emirates Airline announced its sponsorship of one of the brightest golfing talents in the Gulf region, Ross Bain for the 2006 Desert Classic. Emirates, in addition to being the Official Carrier and Hole in One Sponsor for the event, also sponsors a player each year, and this year the airline has chosen Bain to wear the Fly Emirates shirt.

Bain was born in Scotland but moved to Dubai at the age of seven and has lived in the emirate ever since. He is a regular on the local golfing circuit and the winner of numerous events in Dubai.

Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline added: “We are committed to golf not only in our home market of Dubai and in the region, but also internationally. The Dubai Desert classic is an event we feel extremely close to and it is great to be able to give local golfer Ross Bain support in terms of sponsorship.”

In Malta, Emirates sponsors one of the most popular competitions, the Emirates Golf Challenge, organised by The Royal Malta Golf Club.
