A court yesterday heard a young man plead not guilty to trying to seriously injure another man following a fight that ensued over a Xarabank programme.

The court issued a ban on the publication of the accused’s name for security reasons. The man was charged with trying to seriously injure another man, slightly injuring him with a knife and being in illegal possession of the knife in question. The incident occurred on Tuesday in Qormi.

The accused was granted bail against a Lm1,000 personal guarantee.

Police Inspector Maria Stella Cutajar prosecuted and Dr Anglu Farrugia appeared for the young man. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera presided over the court.
