Football: Msida-Hamrun Switched to Kordin

Malta Independent Wednesday, 8 February 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Malta Football Association, yesterday announced changes in next weekend’s programme.

The changes affected both the Premier league and the First Division League. In the statement issued yesterday the MFA said that the changes had to be made because of security measures as asked by the Police.

The main problem has arisen by the delicate match between Hamrun Spartans and Msida St Joseph scheduled to be played at The Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun next Sunday afternoon.

Apart from the importance of this match, a political activity is planned in the vicinity at the same time.

Both Premier matches scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Hamrun have now been switched to The Hibs’ ground. The matches Mosta-Valletta and Hamrun-Msida SJ will now be played at 12.45pm and 3.45pm at The Hibs Ground.

The First Division matches scheduled for Sunday morning have now been switched to Saturday afternoon at The Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun.

The first match between St Patrick and Lija will start at 1pm with the match between St George’s and San Gwann starting at 3pm.

The Premier League matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon at The National Stadium were not affected by these changes.
