Banks ROL’s 5-4 win over second placed Batman ‘A’ Gymstars in Division 1 virtually guarantees another division 1 title for the Banks ROL team of Edward Baldaccino, Mario Genovese, Joe Borg Cardona and ‘super-sub’ Alex Anastasi. Unless something very unusual happens they cannot be caught and will retain the title.
In division 2 it is another story though, this week’s 7-2 win for Ping Pongers against Fleur de lys means the division 2 title may not be decided until the very last match, although Leisure Clothing remain favourites. A good win for Malta University this week means they escape the relegation zone. The much improved, under 12 year old junior, Daniel Bajada again winning all his matches.
Table Tennis Academy ‘A’, in division 3, remain unbeaten and look sure to win their division. The all junior team of Thomas Vella, Daniel Vella, Stefan Grech and Matthew Micallef again winning 7 - 2. Only Sergei Mikhailenko (another junior player) showing any resistance winning the 2 sets for Striders.
In division 4 Danone and Aloysian’s ‘B’ are still tied on points at the top.
