Floriana’s Ian Ciantar and Tyrone Farrugia of Msida St Joseph were yesterday handed a one-match ban in the Premier League. Farrugia’s suspension might have an adverse effect on his side’s coming crucial league match against Hamrun Spartans next Sunday, to decide the remaining place in the Championship Pool.

Ciantar will miss out his side’s first match in the Relegation Pool since Floriana are not in action this week-end.

One player, Emanuel Sank Junior of St Andrews, was the only one sanctioned by the MFA Disciplinary committee from the First Division.
