New Boat for AFM

The Maritime Squad of the Armed Forces of Malta took delivery of a new interceptor boat, which was built in an Italian dockyard and was paid for with funds from the European Union. The 33-foot vessel, which cost E220,000, will be utilised in the fight against irregular immigration and smuggling. It can carry a crew of five.

Present for the handing over of the vessel was Parliamentary Secretary Tony Abela.
