The Helping Hands Foundation managed to raise the sum of Lm19,000 from sales of a booklet and presented the sum to Director Mgr Lawrence Grech in a short ceremony recently.

The sum was collected in just four months and the initial target was Lm15,000 but with extra effort and participation from the general public, the sum rose to Lm 19,000. The foundation has managed to donate Lm70,000 to different charities in less than two years since its inception.

Dar tal-Providenza relies entirely on the generosity of its benefactors and public donations to fund the very high level of care its residents need in order to help them toward their eventual integration into society. The home needs an annual income of Lm1.6 million or Lm4,500 a day to function.

Mgr Gatt expressed his satisfaction on the success of this fund-raising initiative and thanked all those involved in the project who have made it such a success.
