Cricket: Easy Win for Marsa over Krishna in winter league

On Saturday the Winter League continued. Marsa took on Krishna in what ended as a very one sided affair.

Marsa won the toss and elected to bat. Sarfraz Ali and Colin Willis opened the batting. Both batsmen’s wicket were taken in Nowell Kosla second over. Chris Naudi and Mike Caruana made a partnership of 49 runs before Naudi was clean bowled by Zahheer Malik. Caruana went on to make 82 runs of 58 balls including two sixes and three fours before being caught out. John Grima was the last man standing making 16 runs not out. For Krishna Nowell was the strike bowler taking three wickets. Marsa totalled 147 runs.

In reply Krishna were bowled out for a mere 26 runs. Top scorer was Sunny Krishna with six runs. Some brilliant catching and fielding for Marsa won them the game. Sarfraz Ali bowled well and almost took a hat trick.

Marsa won the game very easily.

This weekend sees another touring side, British Airways, playing on Saturday and Sunday. Both games start at 10.30am.
