Labour MP George Vella spoke in favour of recycling plants being built in various parts of the island, including Rabat, at a recent press conference, the Nationalist Party said yesterday.

The PN said Dr Vella was speaking alongside Labour leader Alfred Sant at the time and the latter did not deny what Dr Vella had said.

The PN said Dr Sant should admit that Dr Vella had said those words.

Super 1 TV had reported that the Nationalist Party was lying, however the PN retorted by saying that even Super 1 journalists present at the press conference had heard what Dr Vella said.

The Nationalist Party (PN) demanded One Productions to broadcast the party’s reply as well as report what Dr Vella had said. The PN said it is distributing what Dr Vella said on DVD.

The PN said that Dr Sant demanded Lm400,000 from the government to reveal where another four recycling plants could be built on the island.
