Malta Independent Thursday, 9 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria recently made an official offer for Msida SJ player Olalekan Ibrahim Babatunde.

A number of meetings were held with former St Patrick, Birkirkara and Marsaxlokk coach Atanas Marinov who joined the Bulgarian club after his contract was terminated by Marsaxlokk FC earlier this season.

Yet, the Msida SJ Executive Board decided not to transfer the player as it is believed that with his potential, the Nigerian striker can make it to a better European league.

Botev are currently 12th in the Bulgarian top division.
