Mosta and Birkirkara registered easy wins over Rabat and Qormi respectively in the matches played on Sunday at Floriana.

Mosta defeated Rabat by four goals to nil with their scorers being Rebecca Chircop, Karen Lia, Jane Coates (penalty) and Yanika Fenech.

In the other match, Birkirkara scored the second highest win of the season as they beat Qormi 19-0.

The score clearly indicates Birkirkara’s domination, scoring almost at will through Stephania Farrugia 5, Eleonora Agliano 4, Chantalle Demanuele 4, Alexia Scicluna 2, Rachel Cuschieri 2, Isabelle Mazzitelli and Kelly Agius Pace.

With three more matches for each team before the end of the competition, Hibernians lead on 33 points, eight ahead of second placed Birkirkara. The Paolites need just two points from their remaining three matches to clinch another title.

Dorianne Theuma of Hibs is the top scorer on 25 goals, followed by team-mate Ylenia Carabott on 23 and Stephania Farrugia of Birkirkara on 16.
