Table tennis star Simon Gerada yesterday participated in a tournament held in Sunshine which saw some top level elite players competing for honours. Simon won the tournament when in the final he defeated seed number 12 of the Commonwealth Table Tennis line-up with an emphatic 4-1 score.

The contingent was complete following the arrival of the last athlete, Angela Galea, and her coach Istvan Kormos, who arrived at the village at the weekend.

Meeting for potential Maltese athletes

A meeting for more potential Maltese Australian Athletes was held on Saturday. The Maltese Flag raising ceremony was also held and all those forming part of the Maltese contingent took part in this emotional ceremony. Chef de Mission Pippo Psaila presented the team to the Village Mayor.
