Many of the members of this group may well be over 70 years old but that did not stop the ‘Gerry Attricks’ from recently putting on a lively performance entitled All That Jazz in aid of the Malta Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund. The performance was also sponsored by HSBC Cares For Children Fund (HCCF).
The Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund was established in 1946 to assist victims of an outbreak of polio. Over the past sixty years it has used its facilities in Corradino to help persons with disabilities develop skills in order to become independent and join the country’s workforce.
The Baywatch Players, known as ‘Gerry Attricks’ are made up of British ex-patriots resident in Malta. The latest show was their fourth and included dance routines, solos, comedy, country and western, popular music and even an Elvis Presley tribute. All
proceeds from the ticket sales for the performance will go to the Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund.
“HSBC Cares For Children Fund has supported the Physically Handicapped Rehabilitation Fund for a number of years and it is good to see other organisations, such as this theatre group, taking the initiative to help as well. Putting up such a performance obviously entails some expenses, which HCCF is more than happy to cover in order to make sure that all proceeds from the tickets go to help all those which the Fund works so tirelessly for,” said Mr Paul Caligari, HSBC Paola Branch Manager.
