Malta’s men’s and seniors’ teams at the European Team Championships were eliminated on Friday night when they lost the semi-finals against Wales 1 and Finland respectively.

The Men’s team, comprising Alex Borg, Simon Zammit and Guzi Grech, lost 10-8 to the Welsh side and thus failed to retain the Euro team title as the Welsh side went on to meet Scotland in yesterday’s final.

The seniors team of Frans Mintoff and Tony Mifsud lost 7-3 to Finland’s Lang Kimmo and Jyri Virtanen, the latter earning a berth in the final against England.
