The third round of the Malta National Squash league is drawing to a close. Over 50 players have been competing on a regular basis.
Adrian Camilleri and Nigel Dunkerley continue to climb up the leagues with Johanna Rizzo still fighting to keep her place in the top division.
The leagues, introduced last year, have proved a tremendous success with more players joining every session.
Players of all standards take part, beginners through to national team players. Each player has around six weeks to arrange the five matches in their own division on a day and time that suits best.
This enables players to be flexible in arranging their matches, as opposed to the regular tournaments where players play all their matches in one day.
At the end of each ‘round’ two players are promoted and two players are relegated giving players different opponents in each round and the chance to ‘reach their own level’
The next round of the national squash league starts on 8 April and any players wishing to take part can join by contacting Paul on [email protected] before Friday 7 April.
