BJ’s Night Club in Paceville is organising the 17th edition of the annual BJ’s Music Marathon, which is being officially sponsored by Camilleri Wines who are branding this year’s edition as The Palatino BJ’s Music Marathon 2006.
The annual event at the popular Paceville night club will be officially launched today during a media tour at the Millennium Chapel whose social project WOW – Wishing Others Well, is
the benefiiary of all the proceeds collected during the marathon. With this year’s edition, BJ’s Night Club will seek to surpass the Lm100,000 collected throughout the past editions.
BJ’s owner Philp Fenech referred to the marathon as more than just an annual event. “The BJ’s Music Marathon today is an institution that has flourished over the years, establishing itself as one of the main musical highlights of the year. It is a music event aimed at preserving live music as a form of entertainment and has managed to attract an ever increasing niche market all year round. Besides, we use this attractive venue to support a most worthy cause – WOW – Wishing Others Well – a social initiative undertaken by the Millennium Chapel.”
Mr Camilleri said, “Branding the BJ’s Music Marathon with Palatino forms part of our effort to promote locally produced products. In fact, this year’s Palatino range (vintage 2005) is produced entirely from grapes grown and harvested in Malta. This is an important milestone for Camilleri Wines and we would like to celebrate this important achievement for the Maltese wine industry during the Palatino BJ’s Music Marathon together with all the local artists and with a longstanding promoter of local music like BJ’s, all in support of this year’s edition of the Palatino BJ’s Music Marathon 2006.”
The Palatino BJ’s Music Marathon 2006 will kick off on Monday 17 April at 5pm. Other musicians who would like to participate are to contact Philip Fenech on 9949 3534 or BJ’s Nightclub on 2137 7642 (after 10pm).
