Michael Galea of Birkirkara has won the BOV Player of the Month award for March 2006.

The Stripes’ prolific striker, currently heading the scorers’ list with 19 goals, has more than played his part in reviving his team’s hopes of wresting the league title from Sliema Wanderers this season.

His effective running into position to drive the ball home or head it past the opposing goalkeeper, as well as his ability to provide his colleagues with scoring opportunities have been the characteristics of this player.

None more so than during March when these qualities helped his team to maintain their lead at the top of the standings.

More of the same lethal finishing and unselfish play by this Birkirkara forward will undoubtedly boost his team’s chances to land the top prize in local football in May.
