Malta Independent Thursday, 6 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The Malta Olympic Committee (MOC) and RTK Radio (103FM) are collaborating together in the interest of local sport by producing a dedicated programme that looks at local sports and the Olympic Movement in Malta (entitled ‘Malta u Dinja tal-Hames Crieki’).

The objective of this programme is to bring a better understanding of the MOC’s role in sport; the availability of different sports in Malta and what major activities are happening.

The general public can get a better idea of Malta’s leading athletes and last and not least get medical advice in relation to Sport Science.

The programme is produced and presented by Ivan Zammit and coordinated by the MOC.

It will be broadcast every Sunday between 1.05pm and 1.30pm. It is also planned that this programme will be made available on demand from the MOC website www.nocmalta.org.

The first programme is scheduled for next Sunday 9 April, the Malta Rugby Union will be highlighting their role and most importantly their forthcoming game against Croatia on 15 April.

Elite athletes Darren Gilford (Athletics – Sprint) and Rebecca Camilleri (Athletics – Long Jump) will be giving some information about themselves, their sport and how they started; the MOC President Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco will give a brief introductory overview of the MOC and his role as President and finally the medical section will discuss various aspects of sports and exercise medicine.
