Waterpolo: Malta Beaten 10-6 by Slovenia

Malta Independent Sunday, 9 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

Malta suffered its second consecutive defeat at the European B championships in Slovenia yesterday evening.

But yesterday’s score was quite respectable with the Maltese putting up a brave performance against the home side who had also beaten France 9-7 on the opening day of the tournament in Kranj.

Session scores of yesterday’s match were 2-0, 2-4, 6-2, 0-0, with the Maltese, quite evidently, showing their best in the second and final session.

Scorers of the six goals were John Soler (2), S. Camilleri, N. Lazon, M. Pisani and M. Zammit.

In another match in the same group played yesterday, Slovakia beat France narrowly 11-10.

Malta plays its last match against France today.
