The main event currently being held at TCK is the “San Michel” team tournament. Like in previous years, this tournament is being sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk through their product “San Michel Table Water”.

This tournament started on 11 March and will come to an end on 21 May.

Six teams captained by Ricci Marco, Gusman Silvio, Cassar Clint, Callus Joe, Vella Joe and Miss Portelli Doriana are contesting the most prestigious Shield. Each team is composed of 14 men and nine ladies in seven different categories.

The first day of the tournament was dominated by strong wind and showers of rain and the games, due to be played on that weekend, had to be postponed to be played through out the following week. Since then the weather has been more clement and all matches were played as scheduled.

The tournament, which is now at its half-way stage, is providing the great number of supporters attending for matches every weekend, with some scintillating play in all categories but especially in the “A” section where, both men and ladies are playing to their utmost level.

As shown in the table below, all the teams seem to be well balanced and all of them are fighting for the first four positions to reach the semi-finals.
