With reference to the report Government debt at 74.7% of GDP in 2005, published yesterday, the National Statistics Office issued a correction to the press release from which the report was taken.

The NSO said: “At the end of 2005, the general government nominal gross consolidated debt amounted to Lm1,439.8 million (not Lm1,927.1 million), or 74.7 per cent of the GDP; compared with Lm1,394.6 million (not Lm1,830.4 million), or 76.2 per cent of GDP at the end of 2004.”
